Our Mission

For more than 150 years, Seventh-day Adventists have worked to promote whole-person health through health research, health promotion, hospitals, clinics, health retreats, and health education in universities and colleges around the world.

Following Christ’s example of bringing health, healing, and hope to our members, patients, and communities, the Seventh-day Adventist Church places a strong emphasis on health and wellness. We believe that the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and that living within God’s will can improve one’s health. The Adventist health emphasis is founded on biblical revelation, Ellen G. White’s inspired writings (co-founder of the church), and peer-reviewed scientific literature.

We believe in the worth of human life and the beauty of individuality.

We are designed to thrive, and the greatest gift we can give someone is to engage them in an active process of becoming aware and making positive choices to live a ‘abundant’ life. Our mission is to inspire and empower people to achieve whole-person health as defined by the 7 Dimensions of Wellness: emotional, physical, social, vocational, intellectual, environmental, and spiritual health.

Our primary strategies are as follows:

Be a pioneer in the field of lifestyle medicine.
Develop your reputation as a reliable provider of personalized, individual, and group health support programs.
Continue to be a pioneer in healthy eating and nutrition.
Deliver world-class healthcare.
Expanding and empowering our advocates and centers of influence
